An Interest In Calligraphy

I've been interested in calligraphy for a while now, but never really attempted to see if I had any skills. I'm pretty much retarded (for a lack of word) when it comes to the whole artsy fartsy field, but I try. The following aren't great, but insha'Allah through practice I hope one day my work can be classified as somewhat 'okay'. So the following are some attempts, the first one I did today.. it looks pretty alright, a few people pointed out that the beginning portion of it is a bit crowded so I shall keep that in mind next time. The rest are ones I did during the months of MIST prep to help a friend with ideas for one of her competition projects.

Ignore the random doodling. Is it not obvious that it says Bismillah...? Seriously?
'Ilm = Knowledge and the thing in the back is a ink bottle and feather pen in it
Hilaal = Crescent. Not great, but practice makes perfect.

Salaam = Peace. I later realised the peace sign was upside down. Also, the lettering needed to be cenetered a bit more.
Shabaabul Muslimeen = People/Youth of the Muslims. 'Tis my favourite so far. The top one is better than the second one.
A poor attempt at trying to be creative. I was trying to write Muslimah = Female Muslim in a way that I could form something funky like a flower, failed miserably. I'll keep thinking Insha'Allah.

shabaabul muslimeen has some weird tail/headdress thing sticking out of it lol. and that's a benz sign, not a peace symbol. nonetheless, good work - i especially loved ilm and hilaal.
