Droplet of Timeless Existence

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh

Inshallah the Ummah is in an uplifting and striving state this fine evening.

So this is a poem I wrote today. Took me about 20 minutes :D Alhumdulillah. I'll post the inner-meaning later inshallah - line by line. For now enjoy and contemplate (all comments and feedback welcome, I'm all ears and eyes)

Droplet of Timeless Existence

Thy soul sits at the edge of a stream
Alone, in a solitary distance
Eyes captivating the image with the shadow of a light beam
with the stroke of the hand a formation of ripples and its existence
Upon posing at this specific abode - leaning foward to notice a mirror image
Hands filled with water trickling over the beauty of the face unlocking a cage
With each trickling droplet escaped the poison, refreshing sensation marking years of the past
The reflection mutating the remainder from first to last
A soul of dreaded hope drowning itself in the body of land,
running to dive in the range of water - flowing as a strand
with each leap it weakened
this ghostly figure could battle no more, a self - interrogation led to suspicion of the forthcoming end
revival was of no hope while distance remained
just a drop - the body was unchained
leaping to both feet, standing firmly
identity was gained, yet time fading slowly
Alone, in a solitary distance
only enough to express allegiance in the remainder of the timeless existence
weakness fallen over such revival
at ease - letting go, reaching for survival
Lost but truly found
covered in the earth, six feet beneath the ground
time was only to lend
a gift... the suspected end

Dash of Inspiration

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahamatullahi Wa Barakatuh

The poet himself was a source of inspiration and motivation for my writing and dreams as well Anywho, here's one of his latest poems...

Beautiful Earth

The clouds start to burst and shower us with rain,

The water cleanses the Earth and helps grow the grain.

Hydrogen explosions burn within the sun,

The rays of light hit the Earth at the glory of the One.

The birds awaken us with their supplicating song,

Sweet dew slowly rises after settling all night long.

Soft wind makes its mark with the rustling of the trees,

As the beauty of this Earth makes me drop down to my knees.

So beautiful, so beautiful; I can't comprehend

The beauty of the day as it calmly falls to end.

As the sun slowly sets and the tides start to rise,

The exceptional beauty brings me tears to my eyes.

We may build our skyscrapers, airplanes and cars.

We may build space rockets to investigate Mars.

Make what we wish, but at the end we will find

That the beauty of this Earth is truly one of a kind.

I Personally love these two lines

"Soft wind makes its mark with the rustling of the trees,

As the beauty of this Earth makes me drop down to my knees."

What surprises me about this blog is that I think back to my self vow. I vowed never to have a blog, xanga, myspace, etc. but now I have a blog and I'm loving writing in it. The reason for this vow is apparent to others and a mystery to the rest...

Inshallah, I shall be back.

Spice of Urdu-ness II

A bit more of my ghundaghee -

rafta rafta roshni bhoojrahi hai
rafta rafta maut ki nauk haat barharahi hai
is dunya ki har pal preet kar na bhooj jaye
jab sokar utay tho woh pal nazar hi na aaye
wohi pal ka intizaar hai
jab tum naam pukaaro aur hummari hazari nazaar aye
bas wohi pal ha intizaar hai
rafta rafta roshni bhoojrahi hai

Spice of Urdu-ness

I'm into the whole urdu poetry scene - just can't read urdu too well yet (but I can) Something by me -

Main yahan behti kis dunya main ghoom hoon
dheeray dheeray tappak raha hai ya khoon
aasmaan ki taraf dekhti hai ya gulab jaisi ankhain
un nazron se bina neend guzarti hai woh ratain
ek na ek din is dunya se chali
maut bin bulaya maymaan se milnay chali
ek khuaish dil main rahi
peechay palat kay ek baar hi sahi
bolo - ek baar tho boldo
mairay liya jannat ka rasta ek baar phir kholdo
ishi ka intizaar raha mujhay
arsaa hogaya likin na bhool payee main tujhay
ek na ek din is dunya se chali
maut bin bulaya maymaan se milnay chali

-main yahan, maghar zindaghi hai wahan-

11 Simple Rules

I guess email fowards aren't always stupid, here's one I enjoyed...
Facts of life...

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-p resident with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
