Blogger Help

Assalamu Alaikum

Some of you are more experienced when it comes to blogger so maybe you know...

I was wondering if there's anyway to organize my posts into categories. I know you can do it on wordpress, but not sure if it's possible here. I actually imported this blog unto another host (hadithuna) but soon deleted it due to some unexpected issues. If there's no way of organizing my posts in that way here, I may reconsider moving my blog (posts and comments both will be imported onto new host inshallah). Help would be appreciated

Suhba Chronicles

As-Salaamu 'Alaykum

If you're as tired of my poems as I am... I'm doing Suhba Chronicles on Silent Dhikr
Although my notes are rubbish.. I'm trying to make little sense of what I was able to grasp Insha'Allah. And although I feel that my writing and account can in no way match up to the actual experience and duroos, hopefully someone can benefit Insha'Allah. 2 Posts so far.

Zo0o0o0om

Assalamu 'Alaykum

Watch this space. I spent about 2 hours organizing my recitation folder yesterday (and downloading a gabillion more files) and it seems I have about 500+ files (Qur'an, Adhan, Du'as, and Asma' ul Husna) and nearly 40 different recitors. I want to get through them within the next 4 months Insha'Allah. Just a heads up to those who'd like to know. If there's any you want, just holler. I'm starting from the beginning so you'll see some repeats from the past.

It's Reality

As-Salaamu 'Alaykum

"It is He Who gives life, and causes death, and to Him you (all) shall return." [10:56].

People die young, old, infants, middle aged, etc. Don't underestimate your time and say you have time and your deen can wait 'til your older. From among those who will earn a place under the shade of Allah (swt) on the Day of Judgement are those who didn't waste their youth and kept their faith alive. We as the youth tend to think we have time and we'll start practicing when we're older and sometime parents even discourage their children and tell them they're young now and should enjoy life. NO. Time flies at the speed of light, when a second passes, it's never to return again.

Yesterday I got another email that a brother passed away in MD and even that a highschool student. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon. May Allah (swt) grant him the ultimate good of the hereafter and increase his iman to easily answer when questioned. May Allah (Swt) grant all family and friends sabr and strength. Allahumma Ameen

Gotta go get ready for Jumma' insha'Allah. Hopefully if someone's willing to take me - I can attend Jummah and Madeeha's Jannazah.

For Every Soul Shall Taste Death

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raje'oon

I've been following Madeeha's status since last year. I found out about her health condition through a few friends who actually had gone to highschool with Madeeha, though I've never met her. Her story had become quite popular and also aired channel 4 news I think it was. I'm deeply saddened to hear of her death. Insha'Allah I hope I can attend her Jannazah. The moment I read the news, the first thing that came to mind was 'Subhanallah, you never know when it'll be your time, through every sickness and even times of health... you'll breathe every last breath that's destined for you.'

Madeeha Faryad has returned to Allah. Her heart stopped at 3:30 am (Thursday April 26, 2007) in Fairfax Hospital.
Madeeha's janazah prayer will be held at Darul Huda Masjid in Springfield, VA tomorrow (Friday April 27, 2007) at 1:30 pm after jummah prayer.

O thou soul, in complete rest and satisfaction!
Come back to thy Lord, well pleased, and well pleasing unto Him!
Enter thou, then, among my Devotees!
Yea, enter thou My Heaven!

-- Surah 89 (Al-Fajr)

May Allah (swt) grant her the Ultimate good of the hereafter and grant her family and friends strength and sabr. Allahumma Ameen

Coming Soon....

Reminiscent Journey is the poem I submitted for MIST, reflecting the theme; Scattered Images: Reflecting Faith, Reclaiming our Future. I wasn't even expecting it to win anything, but Alhumdulillah I got 2nd place on it. There was a lot of patience involved in finally being able to do my 'own thing'... certain people tried coaching me on how 'they' think my poem should sound and I myself had something else in mind, so to keep things straight, I listened to them while I practiced and ofcourse took much of their feedback into consideration and implemented it, but when I was in there reciting it.... I did my own thing Alhumdulillah. :)

This was one helluva weekend, very interesting and hectic. We totally messed up on our nasheed, we didn't forget the words or anything, but my voice wouldn't exert as much as usual and the way it usually does, probably because I was freaked out of my mind and all the performances before us were just utterly awesome masha'Allah. We also, actually made it up to the 3rd round of Scholastic Bowl, unlike last year where we couldn't even get past the first one.

I must say, this year was VERY amusing, I'm sitting here and thinking back to all the 'funny' like stuff that happened and can't help but laugh, definately things I shall cherish insha'Allah. I'm sort of getting cold feet for next year, in terms of school arrangements :(... someone spoke the truth when they said 'girls think too much' I wish this thing (brain) had a off button somewhere.

Time will tell. And also... something I always knew, and told to others, but needed it to be told to ME... is the utter importance of Istikhara. Something that was said in one of the workshops seriously had an impact on me. It was said that, One shouldn't just make istikhara when choosing their major or getting married, but for anything and everything they feel they need guidance and find it important enough to get Allah (swt) involved... which in reality should be EVERYTHING, all our daily affairs. And, it's funny because the day this workshop was done, that morning I had done istikhara in my hotel room for something. Subhanallah :)

Silent Dhikr

Did I ever mention my other blog? Well yeah... I have another. I shall be updating it more often as soon as I get myself to finish my exams and assignments. The chaos-ness of online classes. Gah!
Alhumdulillah.

Here it is, Enjoy.
