It's Fading...

This week is apparently National Volunteer Week, so we got these awesome certificates which has our pictures with our book buddies on it... very cool. Also, the kids gave us these bracelets which they made (my buddy didn't make his, his teacher had to do it because he was taking too long :( ). And we also got a pack of flower seeds, interesting eh? Insha'Allah looking forward to planting them :D. So today I basically let him do whatever, he tried fooling me again and tried skipping pages when he thought I wasn't looking, but I was. He agreed to reading one book, then I just let him draw and he began asking me all sorts of weird questions, and ofcourse he was running around because he apparently can't sit still. I can't very well pull him by the ear or yank him by his shirt, so I let him be free.. free like a fly. (Not that I would pull any other kid by his ear or yank him by his shirt or anything *angelic smirk*).

To post the entry I have saved from yesterday or not to? Hm, must think it over more Insha'Allah, I'm still in that blunder or weirded thoughts and ah I think I'll delay the entry about the other kids 'til next week. Yep Yep. I like talking to myself.

May Allah (swt) continue to spread His mercy among the Ummah during this terrible time. Allahumma Ameen.

It's Fading...

It's fading and washing out
I figured the stain was permanent
And would be saved in this drought
But the rain started pouring
Forming into a tornado storm
Even in the rain, got to get back in the game
I would've failed at life if each day
remained the same without any gain
Got to get back in the game
With a slam dunk or a touch down
Got to get back in the game, even in the rain

It's fading and I'm letting it wash out
I know it may regain its colours without any doubt
It's fading and rightfully so
Praying for the storm to overcome my soul
Now to adapt to the aftermath
And wash a way through the muddy path
To let go or grasp is the question I ask
I know not the answer,
Only time will unmask my final task

As I take a step back and look beyond
A glimpse of the sun rising from above the ground
Puts the pieces together as the storm moves out
Though still fading, the stain remains
A few particles, but it's unlocking the chains
And allowing oxygen to intercede
Refreshing and a source of feed

It's fading, but traces remain
As evidence of the heart it stains
Even in the sun, got to get back in the game
I would've failed at life if everyday remained
the same, lacking any gain
It's fading, but traces remain
I await the day when the colours will once again reign

so many people dying
so many hearts crying
so many lives lying
on the ground far away from the sky
time, time again the numbers shoot high

Lyrics:

We are what we came for
We are what we asked for
We are what we came for
We are what we asked for

Together, we stand or we should at least
be standing side by side like those
we see on the big screen, of every nation
every race and every religion
we are what we came for
we are what we asked for
we are what we make ourselves today

Through every tragedy, Through every moment
Of tranquility and happiness
We are, We should be as one
We come from the same element
but deny equality
Emotions, Heart beats, and thoughts
We all posess
Cus we are what we ask for
We are what we represent
We are what we came for, 'til the end
